Achieng Butler - Chief Executive Officer
Achieng has over 25 years of strategic marketing experience working across French-speaking and English-speaking Africa. Her experience across consumer goods, telecommunications, tourism and education industries comes through in the agility with which she and the team in the Hive adapt to clients’ needs and work with clients to find optimal online solutions that help their clients grow and thrive in the online space. With her intimate knowledge of the African market, and her indepth understanding of classical and digital marketing, Achieng’s mission is to bring world class digital marketing services to companies operating in Africa or looking to enter the African market.
Anthony - Creative Director & Graphics Design
Tony's experience in the creative and marketing industry spans over 24 years from being a storyboard artist, to being a graphics designer and an Art Director at different levels. His experience over the years has seen him be in charge of creating new branding systems, conceptualizing, selling, and executing communications campaigns for regional and international clients while working for companies such as BBDO Mediaedge, Redhouse Advertising Ltd, 5ive Limited, Ogilvy Africa and Century Advertising. Tony is entirely self-taught, having entered the advertising industry straight out of high school and strengthened his skills and knowledge base by taking several specialised courses and training opportunities availed to him over the years, both locally and continentally.
Dick - Digital PR
Dick has over 30 years working to grow people and brands through cutting edge management, marketing, public and corporate relations and communications solutions. His exceptional growth journey traverses several senior leadership and board management roles with leading consumer brands and agencies including Airtel, Audimu, Coca-Cola, Colgate- Palmolive, Diageo, Kenya Airways, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, Village Creative and Vodafone.
Elodie - Youth Influencer
Elodie is a renowned youth influencer, with a strong youth following. She lends strategic insight into youth trends, and services as an important bouncing board for innovative ideas and concepts that target the youth market and young females in particular.
Janice - Brand Strategy
Janice has 30 years experience building brands in Kenya and across Africa for blue chip global, regional and local brands.
Chris - Web Development Partner
Chris comes with over 18 years of international experience in digital and various internet technologies. His solid background in design, UX and Artificial intelligence, make him the right person to lead our wed development projects.
Grace - HR and Admin
Grace has over 20 years experience as an HR expert and talent acquisition specialist. She is the culture carrier at DBH and consults on family and commercial mediation.
Winnie - Copywriter & Social Media
Word wrangler, character squeezer, message massager: With 6 years experience as a Copywriter in Kenya and India, Winnie's words and ideas across ATL, BTL, experiential and digital campaigns either slap you in the face, or bring a smile to it. An anime fan with dreams of visiting Japan, she believes that every brand comes to life and adorns a unique personality when told as a story.
Abu - Email and CRM
I am a Creative Writer, Marketer, Communicator, UXer, and Storyteller. Some of my memorable work includes the essay ``How to Write about Tech in Africa``, which has also been published in German. I have previously worked as a Global Communications Executive for a renewable energy social enterprise where I helped launch a flagship product, as a Multimedia Content Editor at the iHub, and as a Communications and Marketing Lead for a nonprofit whose storytelling for a Pan-African expansion I helped craft. Professionally, my motivations are best summed up by Toni Morrison's words, ``I want to do good work, I want to be involved in other people’s doing good work``.
Sumedha - Creative Direction & Social Media
Sumedha is a marcomms strategist with over 10 years of experience in digital marketing, social media, and experience design across North America, Africa, and the Asia - Pacific region. She believes burritos will save mankind, no challenge is too great or too small, no word is unimportant, and behind every project is a story.
Mitchelle - Video Content Creator
I am passionate Video Content Creator, trained in film and media production, equipped with the skills to produce, direct and/or edit. I have experience collaborating with media production houses in East Africa, South Africa and the USA. I love to tell stories that tell a new fresh narrative about Africa and its culture.
Elsie - Copywriter
Elsie is an eclectic creative writer with 6 years experience in crafting engaging written content for dreamers, doers and brands. Like a bee extracting nectar, she churns stories out of facts and purpose out of stories.
WHAT’S IN OUR HONEY?
When we came together as an offshoot of a larger agency, digital marketing was rapidly evolving.
We knew that we had to create an agency with a single-minded focus; to help brands grow stronger. An agency that would be anchored in strong values and a rich culture driven by a passion for what we do and a conviction of the potential of digital in Africa. We understood that if we truly wanted to deliver brilliance that grows the bottom line of any business, we must be inclusive and invested, creative and collaborative, execution-oriented and excited about every brand we touch.
We needed to be matchmakers, pairing brands with the right people. So we tried to think of ways that would define our raison d’être succinctly, elegantly. The name ‘Digital Beehive’ was a no brainer.
We buzz every bit as hard as bees do and we do it without wings. We bee-lieve that the impossible is possible when you’re part of a collective force driven by one goal – to build brands and businesses that make a difference in their communities, and to do it with passion, grace and brilliance. We believe that the stronger we make you, the stronger we are.
